Paris in Fastforward

Day 1
Our first day in Paris began with our arrival on the train at 6:30AM. We started things off with a French cafe and the it was off to the metro we went.

Jon on the metro

Jon riding the Paris Metro on our way to the hotel.

We found our way through Montmartre (area of Paris) and to the hotel where we stashed our stuff and went out on the town.

Since this was Jon’s only day in Paris we did things in fast forward. Starting with the Musee Centre Pompidu (modern art).

Musee Pompidu

The Musee Pompidu looks as though it was built inside out.

Then we met up with some friends for dinner and drinks in the Latin Quarter. The Grande Palace was spur of the moment as we walked by and saw there was an elaborate film festival complete with European DJ to stick with our modern art theme.

Grande Palace with projected words

The Grand Palace had words projected all over the front of it, which caught our attention and attracted us to the event.

Film festival

There were probably 75 screens each with a featured film.

We continued with a nice stroll through the Champs Elyssee leading us to the Arc de Triumph.

Jon and Zack were very excited to be here!

Arc de Triumph

The Arc de Triumph is at the end of the Champ Elyssee (kinda like the LV Strip in a way, but with expensive shops not hotels).

Then we finished the night with a midnight viewing of the Eifle Tower which is lit in blue for the holiday.
